Dr. Avanti Ambekar


Dr. Ambekar received her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. She completed her transitional internship at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in New York.  She then moved to San Francisco to pursue her diagnostic radiology residency training at the University of California, San Francisco, where she served as Chief Resident. She continued at UCSF to complete fellowships in Neuroradiology and Musculoskeletal Imaging and is board-certified in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology. Her clinical areas of interest include stroke, head and neck imaging, sports medicine, and cutting edge MR applications.

Dr. Diana Baker


Dr. Baker is a board certified diagnostic radiologist with a special interest in women’s imaging including obstetric and non-obstetric ultrasound and mammography. Dr. Baker received her undergraduate, Master’s and MD degrees from Stanford University, where she also completed an Internship in Internal Medicine. After completing her Radiology Residency and Ultrasound fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Baker joined CAIMA in 2003. She is a member of multiple professional organizations including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and Society of Breast Imaging.

Dr. Kelly C. Broderick


Dr. Broderick received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed a Medicine/Surgery internship at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She completed a residency in diagnostic radiology including mini-fellowship in breast imaging at the University of California, San Francisco. Fellowship in ultrasound with emphasis on high risk obstetrics and gynecologic ultrasound at UCSF. She joined CAIMA in 1999 and practices general radiology and women's imaging. She is a member of American College of Radiology, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Society of Breast Imaging and the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound.

Dr. Brian Johnson


Dr. Johnson received his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and did an internship at San Francisco General Hospital. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Greg M. Lim


Dr. Lim, a San Mateo native, received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his internship at Virginia Mason Clinic in Seattle.  He moved to San Diego to pursue his diagnostic radiology residency training at the University of California, San Diego and then completed subspecialty training in Interventional radiology. While at UCSD, he was selected nationally to receive the coveted Radiologic Society of North America Fellowship award and was named the "Cesare Gianturco Fellow" for 1996.

Dr. David S. Marcus


Dr. Marcus received his medical degree from the University of California at San Diego. After finishing an internship at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, he completed his radiology residency training at the University of Arizona. He then served as a clinical instructor and fellow at the University of California at San Francisco where he focused his attention on magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and computed tomography. In addition to cross-sectional body imaging, Dr. Marcus has special interest and experience in performing interventional radiologic procedures. He has practiced radiology in the San Mateo area since 1993.

Dr. Harriet Borofsky


Dr. Borofsky joined Mills-Peninsula in 1994 after receiving her undergraduate degree from Brown University, medical degree from Harvard Medical School and after completing her residency and fellowship in radiology, breast imaging and body imaging at Stanford Medical Center.

Dr. Alexander Ding


Dr. Ding is a board-certified radiologist specializing in abdominal imaging and interventional radiology. He received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco & a public health degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and fulfilled a medical internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

Dr. Arthur E. Li


Arthur Li, M.D., completed his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco in 1999, following undergraduate work at Harvard University. Dr. Li completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where he also served as Chief Resident. He also completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at the National Orthopedic Imaging Associates in San Francisco in 2005.

Dr. Kathleen McKenna


Dr. McKenna is a board certified radiologist with a special interest in Women’s Imaging.  She received her medical degree and did her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a fellowship in Ultrasound at the University of California, San Francisco.  She joined the professional staff at Mills-Peninsula Health Services in 1994.
She is a member of multiple professional organizations including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound.

Dr. Mark Pederson


Dr. Pederson received his medical degree from the University of Iowa and completed an internship at Washington Hospital Center. He completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed an Abdominal Imaging fellowship at New York University.

Dr. Dorra Sellami


Dr. Sellami received her medical degree from the Faculte de Medecine de Tunis and completed her internship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. She completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco where she also did a fellowship in Women’s Imaging. Her special interest include breast imaging and procedures, ultrasound PET CT, and cardiac CT.

Dr. Clay Napper


Dr. Napper received his medical degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine and did his internship at Mt. Zion Medical Center in San Francisco. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Stanford University where he also did a fellowship in Body Imaging.

Dr. John S. Wilson


Dr. Wilson received his medical degree from the University of Calfornia, San Francisco where he also completed an internship and a residency in Diagnostic Radiology.  He also did a fellowship in Skeletal Radiology and Neuroradiology at UCSF.

This division of CAIMA provides professional diagnostic and interventional radiology services to patients at the following locations: 

Mills Peninsula Medical Center (previously called Peninsula Hospital ) in Burlingame:  Most services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call (650) 696-4646 for appointments

Mills Peninsula Health Center in downtown San Mateo (previously Mills Memorial Hospital). Services available: Monday - Friday 8 am to 6 pm. Call (650) 696-4646 for appointments.

The Women's Center in downtown San Mateo:  All modalities of breast imaging including MRI and biopsies Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 5 pm, screening mammography appointments available Saturday morning. 3D mammography (breast tomosythesis) available in early 2014. Satellite facility in San Bruno for routine screening mammograms. General, pediatric and Ob/GynUltrasound exams available Monday - Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm. San Mateo Medical Center on 39th Ave. in San Mateo: Services available Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, emergency services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 573-2681 for appointments.
 
All radiologists have additional subspecialty fellowship training beyond the radiology residency training, and are board certified. Special expertise in neuroradiology, musculoskeletal radiology, cancer imaging, Ob/Gyn ultrasound, breast imaging, and interventional radiology is available to the community.  Dr. Lim has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Interventional Radiology, and Dr. Ambekar has a certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. Second opinion services can be provided at request.

Dr. Michael Lai


Dr. Michael Lai received his undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College and his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his radiology residency training at UCLA Medical Center and fellowship training at UCSF Medical Center specializing in diagnostic neuroradiology.
