Dr. Joey D. English


Dr. Joey English received his MD and did his internship at Baylor College of Medicine.  He did his residency in Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco, where he also completed fellowships in Stroke Neurology, Neurocritical Care and Interventional Neuroradiology.  Before joining CAIMA, Dr. English was on the neurointerventional staff at UCSF. He currently serves at the Medical Director of Neurointerventional Services at California Pacific Medical Center, specializing in the diagnosis and minimally invasive endovascular treatment of vascular diseases of the brain, head and neck such as acute ischemic stroke, brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas.

Dr. Warren T. Kim


Dr. Warren Kim received his MD and Ph.D. from Yale University.  After completing a transitional internship at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, he did a residency in Radiology and a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of California San Francisco.  He then completed a second fellowship in Neurointerventional Radiology at UCSF.  Previous to joining CAIMA Dr. Kim was a staff interventional neuroradiologist at UCSF.  In addition to specializing in minimally invasive treatment of vascular diseases of the brain and spine, Dr. Kim's research interests include the development of innovative software to overlay multiple imaging modalities, optimize intra-operative real-time visualization, and perform sophisticated volumetric 3-D and 4-D analysis, as well as the development of new devices and techniques to improve neurointerventional treatments.

The San Francisco Neurointerventional Division of CAIMA provides all neurointerventional services for the California Pacific Neuroscience Institute at California Pacific Medical Center Hospitals in San Francisco. CPMC is a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center committed to providing the most advanced and comprehensive care for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. Our neurointerventional surgeons have unsurpassed training and expertise in the diagnosis and endovascular treatment of cerebrovascular disease, one with additional subspecialty training in Stroke Neurology and Neurocritical Care Medicine, and the other in Diagnostic Neuroradiology.  We have an abiding commitment to offer the highest quality of care to patients suffering from both chronic and acute cerebrovascular diseases including:

Dr. Nick Telischak


After growing up in the bay area, Dr. Nick Telischak studied mechanical and biomedical engineering at Tufts University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2001. He spent two years working on the development of a bioartificial liver at the Center for Engineering in Medicine at The Massachusetts General Hospital. He earned his medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School.  During medical school, he became interested in radiology and spent a year at Stanford University earning a master’s degree in Bioengineering studying computational flow modeling and biodesign in 2007.
