Dr. Steve Abedon

Dr. Steven Abedon obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Vermont. He completed a transitional internship at Boston University. His radiology residency was at University of California at San Diego, with a special emphasis in Vascular and Interventional Radiology with Drs. Bookstein, Roberts and Valji, this included two months spent working on the Vascular Surgery service. Fellowship was performed with Dr. Alan Matsumoto at the University of Virginia. Dr. Abedon is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology and has completed the Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional 
Radiology.

Dr. Carl Kim

Dr. Carl Kim obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and graduated from Wayne State College of Medicine in Detroit Michigan. He completed his radiology residency at Michigan State University and went on to fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at Northwestern University in Chicago, specializing in minimally invasive Endovascular and Oncologic therapies. Dr Kim is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Christopher Yoo

Dr. Christopher Yoo joined CAIMA in 2004 and is currently chair of the Department of Radiology at Seton Medical Center in Daly City as well as director of the Breast Center.  He has an interest in MR applications in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast as well as utilizing technology for optimizing efficiency and image analysis.

After completing his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Miami, Dr. Yoo obtained his medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School.  Next, he completed his training in radiology at the University of Pennsylvania for residency and fellowship.  He studied body imaging during his fellowship which concentrated on imaging the abdomen and pelvis with CT, ultrasound and MRI.

Dr. Charles Hubeny

Dr. Charles Hubeny obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia and medical degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. After completing radiology residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester New York, Dr. Hubeny received a Vascular and Interventional Radiology certificate at Stanford University. He is board certified in both diagnostic radiology, and vascular and interventional radiology.
Dr. Hubeny joined CAIMA after nearly 4 years of diagnostic and interventional radiology practice in St. Louis, Missouri. He enjoys all aspects of Interventional radiology with special interest in oncology and recanalization of vascular occlusions. In his spare time he enjoys fitness, snowboarding, and traveling.

Dr. Atul Gera

Dr. Gera received his Bachelor of Science from Columbia University and his Medical Doctorate from the University of California at Davis. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine and a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Emory University. He has expertise and strong interests in minimally invasive treatments for a variety of disease processes including cancer, trauma, osteoporotic vertebral fractures, and women's health (including uterine fibroids and pelvic congestion syndrome).

Board Certified: American Board of Radiology Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, eligible.

Dr. Avani Gupta

Dr. Gupta received her MD degree from Washington University in St. Louis and did her residency at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and New York University. She then completed a Breast Imaging fellowship at New York University. She is board certified by the ABR.  Dr. Gupta is a member of the Radiology Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the Society of Breast Imaging. Dr. Gupta serves as the Director of the Sequoia Hospital Breast and Diagnostic Center.

Dr. Michael Hollett

Dr. Hollett received his MD degree from Duke University and did his residency at the University of Michigan. He completed fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging at Stanford University.  His is also a former RSNA Research and Education Fund fellow. He is the current Chair of Radiology at Sequoia Hospital and board member of California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates, Inc. He also serves as Adjunct Clinical Faculty in the Department of Radiology at Stanford University.  He is board certified by the ABR. Dr. Hollett is a member of the Radiology Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the California Radiology Society.

Dr. Kareem Mawad

Dr. Kareem Mawad earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.  He spent a year in industry working as a biomedical engineer before returning to medical school, and eventually graduating from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine with an MD and MA in neuroscience.  He completed his internship in Denver before returning to his alma mater for Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis.  Most recently, Dr. Mawad completed a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at UCSF with advanced training in abdomen and pelvis CT, MRI, and US as well as special techniques in liver, prostate, and colon imaging.

The Seton-Sequoia Division has been providing services at Seton Medical Center in Daly City and Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City for over 35 years.  Although the faces have changed over the years and the torch has been passed from generation to generation of dedicated radiologists, the mission of providing the highest level of radiology services with compassionate care has carried on to the current group physicians. All of our radiologists are board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Radiology and are all fellowship trained in various sub-specialties.

We provide inpatient and outpatient radiology services at Seton Medical Center and Sequoia Hospital. As well as outpatient imaging at the Seton Women's Center and Outpatient Imaging Center as well as Whipple Radiology and the Sequoia Hospital Breast and Diagnostic Center. Interventional radiology services are provided 24/7 at Seton Medical Center.
